When I met my friend, who had lived alone in his apartment for several months. The walls were bare, except for some beat up white poster. He had a used, pink bedspread on his bed. There was an old, worn loveseat in the living room and kitchen, an island with no chairs. After dating for several months, we decided to renew the furnishings in his apartment. The only thing we wanted to do on a tight budget.
The first idea we had was to decorate the wallsPhotographs he had taken in a nearby park. We blew up the pictures and frames purchased for fifteen dollars a piece at Walmart. Not only decorate the walls, but are a reminder of our first day, where we went to the park itself. We even dared to IKEA, where we decided on a kind of framework and the perfect setting for a total of about thirty dollars. Walls to control!
Next on our list was the pink bedspread. We decided to use Wal-Mart's low prices and bought anavy blue bed-in-a-bag for less than a hundred dollars. Bedroom to read! And what's with the ratty loveseat? We have to throw it away and get a new one? On our limited budget, we opted for a protective shell, which we ordered from Target. I pointed out the protective cover with some decorative pillows to make the perfect place. Living room, check! Finally, for the kitchen, instead of a table, there are three bar stools for the island, which is the perfect dining area.
More importantly, decorating my friendApartment was a fun experience for us both sides. While we have renovated the plant in his apartment at low cost, we have now come home to a perfect oasis.
